This Memorial Day weekend, come level up your DJ skills at the first-ever Fire Island DJ Camp!

Friday, May 22, 2025 –Monday, May 26, 2025
(Memorial Day Weekend)

Join us for a one-of-a-kind DJ retreat in the iconic Fire Island Pines, NY — a three-day immersive experience for music lovers of all levels. Whether you’re just starting out or already rocking club sets, this camp is designed to sharpen your skills, connect you with community, and recharge your creative energy.

Two Types of Experiences!

Fire Island DJ Camp—great if you’re a veteran or if it’s your first time!

Virgins

Learn the fundamentals — gear basics, beatmatching, mixing, and intro to Rekordbox. No prior experience required.

By the end of DJ Camp, Virgins will learn how to:

  • Identify different functions of a club-standard DJ controller

  • Set up a basic sound system

  • Load your favorite tracks and play them off of a mixer

  • Build a playlist that works for your vibe

  • Perform basic beatmatching (NO SYNC BUTTON HERE!)

  • Complete a transition between two tracks

  • Take the next steps in your journey, no matter what you’re excited about doing!

Veterans

For DJs that have been active for a minimum of 1 year

For veterans, we’re excited to build a more customized program focused on your needs. Some of you are full-time DJs and some of you are advanced amateurs, and we want to provide you with the growth and community you’re looking for.

Over the course of DJ Camp, Veterans will:

  • Take semi-private masterclasses with experts in different areas of the music and the industry like the following (demand dependent):

    • Advanced DJ Tricks/Transitions

    • Music Production

    • Marketing and Branding

    • Event Production (Throwing your own party!)

    • Getting Booked/Dealing with Bookers

    • And More!

  • Engage with other Veteran campers about their careers and build opportunities to collaborate on different projects long after DJ Camp is over!

  • Get personalized guidance from instructors on how to best achieve your goals after DJ Camp!

From late-night sets at Le Bain to sun-soaked beach parties in Fire Island Pines, Joey’s style is unmistakably New York — eclectic, expressive, and built for connection. He’s played iconic stages like Madison Square Garden and traveled dancefloors across the U.S. and Latin America, bringing his signature blend of fun and musicality to a global audience.

Ana’s broadcasting history includes hosting the Eurovision semi-finals on television and radio, and DJ’ing live for special events in Ibiza, Blackpool, Manchester, and London’s Hyde Park. Ana enjoys a summer residency on Fire Island at Cherry Grove’s legendary home of disco, the Ice Palace, where she acts as house historian. She is featured in the joint BBC/PBS documentary Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution, sharing Fire Island’s contribution to disco and the rise of the club DJ. Ana Matronic lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Seth and their cat Bootsy.

  • Someone From Berlin

    COUNSELOR, INSTRUCTOR

Someone From Berlin (as known as Raf) is a New York City based DJ and event designer. Born and bred in The City, they have been working since 2015 to create welcoming spaces, from small rooms and off-the-run venues to large-format festival style builds, where people can come together and experience community and music. Playing events for just as long, SFB deep-seated love for the totality of house music results in an impressive range, engaging an audience from the jump and guiding it on a high momentum journey with ease.

SFB is the curatorial force behind UltraMaroon, a highly successful queer community focused monthly event now in it’s sixth year, and the current producer of Fire Island’s longest running benefit house party – IndepenDACE, which takes place over the 4th of July weekend in the Pines every year.

  • Roland Fitz

    COUNSELOR, PHOTOGRAPHER

Roland is a queer photographer and visual storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of identity, environment, and fashion. With roots in both editorial and documentary photography, Roland creates surreal yet emotionally grounded images that explore how self-expression takes shape through place and character. At camp, they’ll be behind the camera—and maybe on the dance floor—documenting the magic as it unfolds.
